7-month stats--and the cutest photos ever

...and that's saying something, since (as you know) we have a LOT of cute photos!

First things first: At 7 months + a few days, Lincoln is 28.5 inches long and weighs 18 pounds and 5 ounces. He grew an inch and a half in a month!

Now for the photos. George took these of Lincoln in his baseball sleeper one evening. And they are awesome!

Major leagues, here I come!

Aaaaah, what's that?

Wheeeeee!

Hi, my name's Lincoln. I'm too cute for words.

So exhausted. Must lounge.

7-month birthday

Lincoln is 7 months old today!

Holy crumbs, where has the time gone? Especially this last month.

I attempted to spike up Linc's hair in the bath tonight,
but because he doesn't really have hair to speak of, it didn't work.
Still cute, though!

Need to get him weighed and measured, but until then, here is the current list.
Favorites at 7 months:
Hopping up on all fours like a frog
Trying to crawl
Biting with his two bottom teeth (can't believe I don't have a photo posted of them)
Laughing, squealing, shrieking, talking
Being outside
Eating. Linc loves his solids!
Playing peek-a-boo
Llama cat
Jumperoo, which he actually jumps around in!
Turning pages in books when we read to him. Really!
7-month dislikes:
Getting frustrated because he can't yet crawl
Teething: Super fussy, super poopy (probably 5 times today), trouble nursing
The church nursery (his first time, two weeks ago, he lasted 5 minutes into
the service before crying so inconsolably that they had to page me)

EXTREME CLOSE-UP!!
And a video for good measure!

Lincoln photos. Shocking, I know!

Our little man is getting to be such a big boy!

He sits up on his own for several minutes before he topples over...

although it does wear him out pretty fast, since the muscles he's using are still getting used to all the use! (I wanted to see how many times I could use "use" in that sentence. And, apparently, in this one as well.)

Lincoln is eating his solids very well! How well? He wants to show you:

He eats cereal (rice, oatmeal, wheat), apples, bananas, peaches, carrots, green beans (doesn't care for them), sweet potatoes, and zucchini. Tomorrow he's trying an avocado. Yum! It is so much fun to introduce him to new foods. And a little overwhelming! Lots of choices. I've made most of his food so far, which is time consuming but sort of fun and makes me feel like Super Mom.

Unfortunately, Lincoln has also been screaming often when he nurses and often will pull off after about a minute. I'm very concerned, as I don't want to stop nursing and want to make sure he's getting the nutrition he needs. Not sure what's wrong, but I think it's a combo of his gums hurting (two teeth are through on the bottom, so he's working on the top) and not being too hungry yet--I've had him on a 4/4.5-hour schedule, but perhaps he needs to be on a 5-hour. My grief, I'll never figure him out!

And, finally, Linc loves to get into crawling position:

But he doesn't usually do much once he's there. Rocks back and forth for a minute and then goes back down on his belly. But he's almost there!

Here's a fun video of him rocking/trying to get to the camera.

Good night!

Sunflowers

During Linc's second trip to St. Louis last weekend, we went out to my cousin Sarah's house for lunch. She, her husband Cory and daugher Remington live somewhat off the beaten path in a gorgeous country setting (as country as a few miles outside of St. Louis can be). On the way there, we passed a field of sunflowers. No, "field" doesn't describe it. I'm not sure what word is appropriate for the amazing sight:

Acre after acre after acre--this field o' sunflowers was at least a mile long. At least a mile! And no telling how deep it was. It was one of the most striking sights I've ever seen in my life, and these pictures are a very poor representation of it. No photos could reproduce the awe I felt!
